Biography of David B. Karrick Jr.Three of David's Grandchildren
David grew up in a politically active family in Washington, D.C. David's Dad was a World War One veteran, businessman and attorney, who later served in Washington, D.C.'s local government. His mother raised David and his sister Lisa, while also continuing her musical career as a Cellist and volunteering for several charities.
After graduating with a B.A. in Political Science from Yale College in 1965 David served with the Peace Corps. Returning home to Washington from Tunisia he worked at National Bank of Washington and soon joined Bache & Co. as a Registered Representative. Continuing his career in finance he moved to Dean Witter in 1971. He stayed with Dean Witter through its various name changes, eventually retiring as a Vice President of Morgan Stanley in 2003. While living in Washington, D.C., David served as Campaign Treasurer for several successful City Council campaigns and as a Precinct Captain in local elections. While there he was also a Vestryman at his church and a founder of Hospice Care of D.C., as well as volunteering with several other charitable organizations. David moved to Warner, New Hampshire in 1996, 21 years ago, soon becoming active in his community when he was elected as a Trustee of the Pillsbury Free Library in 1998, where he served until 2002. David was elected as a Trustee of Town Trust Funds in 2002 and served in that capacity until 2008 and again from 2014 on. He was also elected to Warner's Budget Committee in 2003 and continued as a member until 2008. Now serving as a Director of the Warner Historical Society. David was first elected to one of Warner's three Selectmen seats in 2008, was reelected in 2011 and served until March 2014. David was the Secretary of Warner's Kearsarge Trail Snails Snowmobile Club from 2004 until 2007 and then served as the Club's Vice President until 2008. He was also a Director of Warner's Men's Club from 1999 until 2005. In the late 1990s David was Secretary and a Board Member of New London's Summer Music Series. David and his wife Martha live on Pumpkin Hill in Warner. He has two grown daughters, one grown son, and six grandchildren. You can contact David at:
